About International Arts & Artists
International Arts & Artists is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing cross-cultural understanding and exposure to the arts internationally. Our Traveling Exhibitions Service develops and circulates fine art exhibitions to large and small institutions throughout the U.S. and abroad. The exhibitions cover a broad and dynamic range of art and cultural concepts from both international and American artists, additionally compiling works from significant collections and art movements world-wide. During its fifteen-year history, the organization has collaborated with more than 300 museums and cultural institutions in 49 states and 30 foreign countries. Our staff assists in all stages of exhibition planning from concept development and loan procurement, to venue selection and transportation arrangements.
IA&A’s full-service Design Studio creates a wide variety of publications to accompany the exhibitions we tour. Our design services are also available to any art institution or individual in need of a high-quality, affordable publications and digital media to supplement their exhibitions, events, or websites. IA&A is committed to providing assistance in any capacity to ensure that exhibitions are successful.
To facilitate our mission of enabling cross-cultural exchange, IA&A created Cultural Exchange Programs, a unique, internationally-focused career training program. This U.S. Department of State-approved program allows international trainees to partake in professional training within arts and cultural-related organizations throughout the United States. IA&A provides trainees with documentation for the J1 visas required for exchange, and serves as the continuing liaison between the trainees and host organizations throughout the training period.
Established in April 2006, IA&A’s on-site gallery, Hillyer Art Space, serves to better accommodate the local Washington DC arts community. HAS showcases both regional and international exhibitions that feature emerging artists working in a wide array of media. Hillyer Art Space gives their exhibitors extensive creative autonomy in the development of their exhibitions which results in a diverse display of visions and disciplines. Additionally, the space serves as an open forum for artistic discussions, events, and activities catered to the public.
IA&A’s Membershipprogram enables constituents to voice their opinions so that IA&A can respond to and better serve the needs of artists and art organizations in our local, national, and international communities. Becoming an IA&A Member enables those interested to be eligible to exhibit in our Members' Gallery, receieve benefits, and be alerted about IA&A events, exhibitions, activities. |
