Adjustment Layer An adjustment layer is a non-destructive editing tool utilized in graphic design and photo editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom. Unlike direct adjustments made to an image layer, adjustment layers allow photographers to apply edits and modifications in a separate layer above the original image.
This non-destructive workflow preserves the integrity of the original image, allowing photographers to experiment with various adjustments, blend modes, and opacities without permanently altering the underlying pixels. Adjustment layers offer a flexible and versatile approach to image editing, empowering photographers to fine-tune color, contrast, tone, and other attributes with precision and control. |
